Intergenerational communications panel features CRA account executive

The Richmond chapter of the Public Relations Society of America hosted its monthly luncheon Wednesday, March 25 to discuss intergenerational communications in the workplace. The panel discussion, led by Smokie Sizemore, president of Smokie Sizemore & Co., Inc., featured a representative from each generation in the workplace today – Baby Boomers, Gen Xers and Gen Ys/Millennials.

As part of the panel, CRA’s Meredyth Thurston discussed the values important to Millennials, common communication breakdowns when working with other generations and solutions to make the workplace more productive.

“We make decisions based on our value system,” Thurston said. “It’s important to understand the values important to each generation in order to strengthen relationships and increase efficiency in our work environment.”
