Ice cold branding

Refreshing. It’s a great word to describe a nice, cold Coca-Cola on a warm summer day. It’s also a word that can be used to describe the 2008 University of Richmond Football National Championship win as it was the first NCAA championship in school history. To celebrate this refreshing moment, and gear up for the 2009 season, UofR has teamed up with its corporate partner, Coca-Cola, to offer a special edition Coke can.
Beginning this week, and while supplies last, grocery stores in Richmond (including Ukrop’s) will stock their shelves with coke cans featuring the CRA designed UofR National Championship logo.
“We've never had any of our work on a Coke can,” said Matt Fidler, CRA creative director. “This is really cool."
UofR returns 18 starters of the 2008 team, including five All-Americans, and enters the 2009 season with the school’s first-ever national preseason ranking of No. 1. CRA will be cheering for the Spiders as the 2009 season opens Sept. 5 at Duke.
