West Virginia’s One and Only
Morgantown’s community hospital, Mon General Hospital, has been ranked in the top 5 percent for four consecutive years of all hospitals nationwide for patient safety excellence, according to the HealthGrades organization.
To help promote this important fact, Mon General partnered with CRA to launch a new radio, television and print marketing campaign. View the campaign for Mon General Hospital.
HealthGrades, the leading national healthcare ratings organization, has recognized Mon General Hospital (MGH) for four consecutive years (2006-2009), placing the facility among the national elite, as only 80 hospitals nationally have earned this significant designation. MGH is the only hospital in WV to earn the award this year.
Recipients of the Patient Safety Excellence Award™ represent the highest scoring of the nation’s full-service hospitals equaling 242 or 5 percent of hospitals throughout the nation. Using patient outcome data obtained from Medicare, HealthGrades ranked each hospital based on its performance on 12 of the 20 patient safety indicators identified by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality as directly related to patient safety.
"This is truly an honor for our hospital, our caregivers and our community. Our commitment as an organization to providing a high level of care has never been stronger,” Dave Robertson, CEO, Mon General Hospital said. “At Mon General, we take seriously our roles and responsibilities in providing safe care in the area.”
