WV Lottery wins two Batchy Awards

The West Virginia Lottery won two Batchy Awards at the North American Association of State
and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL) conference in Oklahoma City, October 6-9. Batchy Awards honor the memory of lottery pioneer Ralph Batch by recognizing lottery advertising that achieves a level of excellence Batch upheld throughout his career.
The awards were for the Progress Report in the category of Corporate
Communications, an attention-grabbing tabloid insert that includes information about the Lottery, its proceeds and
direct beneficiaries, and for the Nanny television spot in the category of Best Use of Humor – TV, which featured a woman’s realistic dream of having an at-home nanny that could be achieved by winning a scratch-off
ticket’s top prize.
“As the agency of record for the WV Lottery since 2000, we have shared many successes including
past award wins," said Amy Fanta, CRA account executive. "However, taking home two Batchy Awards is an exceptional achievement. We are truly honored and look forward to continuing our record of
success."
In addition to the Batchy Awards, John Melton, managing general counsel of the WV Lottery,
won a Powers Award.
