D.C. Lottery solves tax problem
The new Taxes Paid Bonanza scratcher is a big hit with D.C. Lottery players. Launched March 3, Taxes Paid Bonanza is currently the best selling $10 scratcher overall and is driving sales of the $10 portfolio to an increase of 26 percent year over year.
The D.C. Lottery tasked CRA with developing a multi-media campaign to communicate the selling points of the ticket: $100,000 top prize and that the D.C. Lottery pays the tax on all taxable prizes. CRA developed a light-hearted campaign called “Celebration without Taxation” which plays off the highly-visible slogan on the District of Columbia license plate “Taxation without Representation.”
